Making one pad set of 2 sounds - can it be done?

Say I wanna start my "LOOP1" along with my recorded "BASSLINE1", is there a way to assign both sounds to one pad so that the one sound starts along with the other?

Uhm.. thanks. But on page 119 in my manual it tells me about sampling into the MPC.. not about assigning 2 sounds to one pad!

Could somebody please just tell me how its done??

you can do it in the program mode.

There is no way to do that.But if you go into assign down on the bottom left turn it to simultaneous and assign the other sound/pad you want to play.(on the 2k)Or you can always over dub.

program>assign screen>highlight normal at the bottom>rotate data wheel to change it to Simult>set sound you want to play with the current sound.

It's p.119 in the pdf manual, not the paper one.

I'm **** around and having a hard time doing this layering.....still figuring it out......doesn't seem to want to work.

just place the sample on two pads.

Pad1. Sample w/out layer or bass.

Pad2. Bass/layer..ect..

3. Got to overdub

4. Use your ear to catch the time and press the second pad on key with the 1st pad.

5. Bam...put that new layered sequence on another pad and voila!

6. Practice makes perfect.

Why you say it's not page 119 in the manual (papper)? Aren't you on XL?


"The Prgram Sound Generation Mode"
By setting the sound generation mode you can generate up to three sounds simultaneously or switch the sound by using velocity and decay.
So you don't need to place on two pads... Just do like dcypher said, work around it... and... download the manual ...
