the effin colors. why blue/red???? what was they thinking? it would be soooo sexyer in white/beige/ like its siblings. :*(

I started with borrowing a friends 2k and when he wanted it back, I went for the 1k. Its best value for money, I think. And the USB makes it so easy to work with if you have a DAW! Sometimes I take it with me in the sofa to fool around with while watching tv. Can't really do that with a 2k... :? It's rocksolid, and syncs perfect to my rig!

I agree on the USB tip. That is so nice esp. since I have a laptop (no SCSI).
I think the portability is good if you are going to gig with it...
Also having a ridiculous amount of memory! I can just autoload EVERY drum shot I have!!! AND STIIL HAVE ROOM TO MAKE MORE. I never have to go looking for a sound.

The biggest downfall is the lack of additional outs. If you mix through a console that is very nice... If you sync to tape or protools, that can overcome by recording in individual tracks soloed.
