Midi Help!

I have my sp as the master and the mpc as the slave. I want to beable to play notes on the mpc with my midi controller is there any way i can split the input channels to recive only the sp or only the midi controller ive tried looking ion the manuels but it was minimal help

yea. if i understand your question, your asking if there's a way to tell your equipment which midi channels to use?

if so, you'll have to go into each of their own setup modes and select which channels to use there...

yeah ive tried this i dont think its possible its recieving all signals at one time any other knowledge someone can kick me?

If you want the long version go to page 50-54 in the manual. You have to make sure your tracks are on MIDI in your MPC. Bottom left hand corner where it normally says drum1, turn it til it says MIDI. For MIDI Filtering read those pages in the book. I also know that in Multi track record mode you can assign which channel coming in goes to what track, but if you only want to record lets say track 2 alone then you have to turn the other tracks off( i believe). good luck!

figured it out... i had to find how to change the outputs on the keyboard and then cordinate them with the inputs on the mpc.

are you talking about a sp-1200?

that's good! trial and error. MIDI took me a minute to learn just the basic. it gets real deep !
