Would be nice if it did, you would be able to get about 27 sec at 28k.

sorry 'bout the double post, but i just read this and checked out my emax manual.

Enjoy ;)

There are lots of people using Motifs and Fantoms with 60's and SP's.
The problem is that people think the SP and 60 sound one way.
They don't.
When use with modern gear correctly it adds character and depth to the sound.
Not the old 90's sound.
It's the same reason some people use 808's with a Triton.

C-toon,
thanks but we were referring to a method on the SP that's lets you maximize the sample time not changing the sample rate.
The reason we were talking about the Emax was since 28k is the only real usable rate. The others are too low to use or too high and kill the character of the sound.

DJ Premier still sells 12bit beats since he still rocks the 60.

Hi Tek also rocks a 60 from what I've heard...

there's a couple more cats...but they names escape me right now..

I know primo still rocks that shit,
Primo's beats will always sell - But is there any1 rocking a sp and selling beats on a regular basis?

Tek is a good call - I thought he was using the 3000 though, You can see the monitor on the hiteknology cover.
But on a second thought it might be an automation atari for his SSL.
Duh, now it comes to mind, talib often shouted the mp60 on the old shits.
You're right!

Concerning that fantom & motif with 60s.
Nothing wrong with that. It was just an example.
As far as I noticed there are a handfull o' cats on here that take things too literary. Just wanted to make clear from which point im reasoning here.

Oh and yea, I know you were getting on about changing the sp-samplerate. I was just getting at dude who tried to check out lower sample rates on the EMAX, saying it couldnt do that.

no doubt C.Toon, i could get a flying pancake about what other folks use to make beats. Good is good and wack is wack to me. Alot of doods still rock 1200's, 60's, 3k, and other ish but they prob don't talk about it or it's just another piece of their overall setup. I rock the 3k and the 60, along with a couple other 12bit samplers and I bet most of yall couldn't tell much difference between my 60 beats and 3k beats.

He had that song where he rapped on his album and claimed he used the 3000.....

I'm not 100% sure though.....

I read an interesting article a few years ago he mentioned how he never uses compression and lets them tracks breathe

Discussions on a forum are pretty much like hanging on the blok with the old heads.
A lot get said, everyone's an expert, sometime real sh*t is said but none of it really matters.
It's just convo.
If someone takes something too personal (or what have you) then they get off the blok and come back later.
Nobody even bothers to bring it up again.

Sorry C-toon I thought you were talking to me about the Emax thing.

Some people just need to ease back when people are talking about things.
That's all it is people talking about things, sometimes people act like this is the frontline of hip hop and they have to defend it to the death.

He used to rock the 60 back in the days. But he actually rocks the 3000. The song your talking about is called "Hiteknology" with where he actually does say he uses the mpc. "m- p-c, 3 triple- 0 with the eight outs"

Again as I said from my experiences - you lose a single out. channel on the SP1200 when you're using it with another midi device. You must program notes on the sp1200 and therefore must assign them a channel output. If you have your EMAX assigned to Channel 1 and you have a Kick Drum on Channel 1 if the notes overlap they will cut each other off.......unless we're missing something? The Sp1200 does not run nearly as powerful as the 60 with its 4 Midi outs. I don't think any sampler/d-machine on the market has that kinda capability.

Wait so you lose 1 unit of polyphony when you run an external midi unit? the mono out is still chill right? or does everything have to be on a channel to be heard?

Ctoon, no offense, but we got over the sell out thing over a week ago. Also, we were talking about changing the sample rate on the SP being possible or not, we all know that the emax does it.

I really have to mess with an SP more, I wanna really get into it and have good experiences with this classic.

The MPC's are by far the most stable midi drum machine workstations avaliable. The Triton is the keyboard counterpart, (in terms of being a midi work horse).

I'm tired of all you m.f.'s always falling back on "N*ggas gotta eat" as an excuse. Lets say I brake into your studio tommorow, boost all your gear, and then slang it all to a pawn shop. Is that excuseable because I had to eat? NO! It's f*cked up and lame. Your rebuttle would be, just get a damn job and quit being lazy. And LAZY is the keyword here. PR got LAZY with the MPC, point blank.

Whatever though. MUCH PROPS TO PR. Hopefully the artist start being true to the game, force the labels to go backwords, and embrace REAL HIP-HOP.

As I said before, from a purely finacial perspective, the reason no one is coming out with that ole' raw shit is becuase no one wants to take the finacial hit to make it happen.

Leave it up to people like myself, Drumat!c, and others with the same mentality, to push that raw sh*t up from the Unda', to the Ova'.
