DURATION of various NOTES

MPC can do more MIDI and that's about it. Triton is a FULL on Sampler, Synth, workstation. MPC2kxl is a basic sampler MIDI conroller.

Anything I create on my MPC I can create on my Triton and/or ASR10.

Yes, Triton can sequence. It can also be used as a MIDI keyboard or a sound module.

so the triton appears to be an mpc and keyboard all in one piece of equipment....is this accurate.

They each have a different feel to them. I had the ASR10 first, then got an MPC, then got a Triton. I learned everything I know on a keyboard but I wanted a drum machine style sumpin sumpin so I got the MPC. Then I wanted a newer keyboard so I got the triton.

Triton is NOT as used friendly as the MPC.

MPC can control more MIDI equipment than Triton can.

Triton is a keyboard so of course you can play
synths/basslines alot easier.

Triton can hold more RAM but has no slot for
IDE internal ZIP on the motherboard like 2kxl does.

SCSI is an addon with triton classic, SCSI comes standard on MPC.
Triton comes standard with 4outs. MPC has 8out as an option.

There are alot more to list, you will just have to look through the manuals on both. OH and the ASR10 can sample and play sequences at the same time, always active line in and internal mainout sampling which neither 2kxl or triton classic can do.

Excellent fx which are not only exceed the quality of the eb16 but they're versatile too(you can use them for dang near anything or use the Triton as an fx module)
Large fat juicy touchscreen which Korg seems to have on lock as no other manufacturer to my knowledge are even trying to **** with that sh1t...Just look at the damn display for the Motif!!!!!
Superior sound quality
loads of sounds, combis, presets, drum kits, etc.....you wont even need to cop one of those add on boards for awhile...
Almost infinite tweakability.....

My only gripe is the sequencer which isnt very intuitive at all...you could learn it but in comparison to the MPC, its not up to par

its a very deep machine andits one of those things that you really hafta put time into in order to fully get started whereas the MPC pretty much makes your first beat for you.......

The majority of those I know and in general DONT use the triton sequencer...for a sketch pad maybe but my boy and several others I know either use the mpc or software to sequence the Triton....I would def keep the MPC and use the triton for making melodies and the mPC for all percussion and short hits and such as well for the sequencer........

i dont use ANY midi equipment with my mpc. i only sample from my computer and then sequence.

i just cant stand all this stuffing around trying to get me sample ready so i can make a keyboard melody out of it

it sounds like the mpc is not as good for making melodies
and the triton is not as good for sequencing

i wont be able to have both, not enough cash. if i get a triton ill have to get rid of my mpc.

id like to keep my mpc and just find the simplest and cheapest way to solve my note varioation problem

so far i understand that i need to experiment with the timestretch on the mpc or in wavlab (which i have also)

i wish there was a SIMPLE way to solve this (dont get me wrong though, the help i have recieved is much appreciated)

I can use the Triton/ASR sequencer just as well as I can the MPC sequencer but I've been at it for a while and I didn't let it scare me off.

MPC is easier though. You want something that is friendly then keep the MPC. I got them all cause I had loot and that's what I wanted. It's up the in idividual though really. What you need to make a beat (almost anything will do (my first drum machine was Matel synsonic drum with only 4 sounds, I got for my 11th birthday), then what you want (which is probably something way bigger an expensive).

although you can sequence just as well on the triton, would you say you can sequence QUICKER on the mpc?

you can sequence very very quickly in the mPC....sorry for all the confusion mane.....

About the same sequencing.

I take my time cause being quick sometimes you forget stuff that's important when sampling/sequencing.

If I were you I would choose the MPC cause it's easier to master.
Like what was said earlier, the MPC will damn near make your first beat for you..
The triton will give you grief for the first couple of weeks/months, trust me.
