128MB on an XL?

'sup everybody

some dude on ebay is telling me he put two 64MB chips in hs XL and now it has 128MB

is this possible?

i've actually never heard this being asked before . the answer is no . so yes, the guy is full of sh*t . let him know

i think that 32 is the max,isn't it?

maybe he is referring to the 1000 or 4000.

32mb is the limit that the 2000xl can use.
Yes you can put more than 32mb of RAM in a 2000xl.
Problem is it will still only use 32 and increase the probablity of intermittent problems.

yeah he was totally lying and got caught.. before posting here i wrote to him and asked him how he managed that. i think he read this forum cuz he wrote me again all like "sorry, i was wrong, im selling it for a friend, it has 32 MB"

maybe he's telling the truth but in his initial reply to me he said "Hi, I bought two 64MB chips and added to the MPC 2000XL."

uh, yeah. i dunno, maybe he's telling the truth and just had his info wrong. he did change it in the auction description and title hmm. it says 32mb now.

i think im picking up an XL tonight (not the one from the auction, a local one). finally moving away from the buggy, busted pain in the a ss that has been the mpc1000

i guess technically he never did lie then . but i think it's fair to say the implication was a lie (that the XL functioned with 128mb of usable memory) . advertising it as that was still wrong though.
