I'm using an MPC 1000 w/ Kingston 256MB Ram and SanDisk 512MB CF. I recently had a crash while executing a "Save Entire Memory". The machine saved sequences 1-27, while sequences 28-99 were lost.

I updated my OS to version 1.6 while trying to recover the rest of my sequences. My MPC now works fine as a sampler and as a master sequencer for my other keyboards with one large problem:

Whenever I record a track using the pads everything sounds perfect until I play it back. When I playback, timing is fine but the only pad that is triggered is A01.

As I said before, the external keyboard parts that i'm sequencing off of other MIDI devices playback perfectly. Only programs on the MPC itself are affected by this. I've even tried to step edit the notes to trigger different notes (pads).

Did I change some setting during my attempt to recover my lost data, or is my MPC changing from a MIDI Production Center to a Major Piece of Crap? Please tell me that it's me and I've missed something.

Thanks,
Damage

1. the latest OS is 1.07
2. do u label your programs (PGMS) make sure u are using the right ones for your track.

3. also are you assigning your samples to the pads properly? cause one thing I do is A01 id the default pad for every new PGM made on the MPC.

tried to upgrade to 1.07, but for some reason that is the only OS update that will not unzip on my computer (Mac G4).

I did solve the problem though...

For some reason the note assignments got scrambled during my crash. So I just had to go into each Program, choose note (F4 i think) and then choose "Reset" to get the default values assigned.

Thanks for the reply!
