Did anyone watch limpkin park and jay-z set? The keyboard player was playing a 1k. ................. just some useless info for those who think that the 1k is for starters

Yeah I saw the MS 20, anyone see the minimoog in Destiny's child's performance? you gotta know what the back of one looks like, but they guy was playing it.
Stevie also using a real clav through a guitar pedal was pretty cool.

Yes Pink Floyd were a highlight, they really put on a show. I'd say that was the most impressive act, considering they haven't played together in 20 years and no one has touched them for songwriting in those same years. How many cats can write a 10 minute song and keep you listening?
One thing from the Live 8 thing that really bugged me was kanye (surprise surprise).
He performed diamonds are forever at a concert to promote awareness of Africa's poverty and struggles. wtf? Diamond trade is one of their major problems. One of the African speakers to the UN said he lost 2 limbs, his ear, and some fingers because americans like pretty stones.
And is every one of his songs just about him?

i haven´t seen it, but i read that he changed the title from "Diamonds are Forever" to "Diamonds From Sierra Leone", which also had a change in the lyrics into a more moral/political direction...

Lovin' how everybody rips on Kanye for doin' well. Who cares if he's got a big mouth - hes makin' money off beats (more than any of us are at the moment) and I gotta give respect for that.
Also, Diamonds From Sierra Leone is talking about how bad the diamond trade is so its definately an appropriate choice for the Live 8 concert.
