Man if u tryin to step your game in beats. Its not the equipment that u wanna focus on buying its the sounds that make the beats hot. go to guitar center and buy a bunch of sound disks u know. the cds that u load inot your computer. They some ill sounds. cop a midi sound card and a midi keybord. Midi all that shit together and play the sounds on your mp dogg. Its all about the sounds not the programs. Let the Engineers in the studio handle all that program stuff u just make your beats. All I do is search for hot sounds that i can put in my beats to make them stand out. Thats y they do... They stand out

that's good info . where is the best place to store my samples. Now I have heard many theories. External hd , external zip ,jaz drive ? or do icontinue to save to flash rom cards? and last question : Do you guys save your programs the same place you save your samples?

store in external hard drive like jazz drive. u get 2.5 gigs of storag. more than enough space

If you have the possibility store data on an internal carddrive, they can store up to 2Gb on one cf card and are less prone to wear than media like zips or Jazz.

I got internal card reader, external 9gb scsi hd. I can use either alone or both, they are both good storage options.

Go into the programs (Shift+6) then go to parameters (PARAMS). In that window their should be a place that says VOICE OVERLAP. Use the data wheel to select between POLY, MONO, or NOTE OFF. POLY will make the sample play until the sample is done playing no matter if you trigger the sample again with the pad. MONO will restart the sample each time it is pressed. NOTE OFF will only allow the sample to play as long as the pad is press. For what you want, MONO is your best bet.

yeah that move definitely worked, when laying down beats in sequence mode ; do you program complete beat in song mode before burning it to a cd ?

Hey mang, as far as Cubase goes, you don't need a P4 for that. The Athlon64 will work fine. I actually use a Sempron processor and it works. Just get 512 tor 1024mb ram and you should be fine.

this site is the sh---- : I wasn't gonna purchase cubase because of the comment made in this thread from 1 of the vets BUT/ There are some concerns when i do have. When creating a composition in cubase how easy is it to convert on a protools file?? does the cubase make your sound better /fatter sorry for these questions but I'm soon to be a Big time producer thanks to you guys,keep up the good work !

personally I like cubase. I dont realy dabble in mixing too much but i used both protools and cubase. I liked them both a lot. Cubase is cheaper so i think i would buy cubase over protools. But on the real Logic is the hottest one out of all the programs cause u can do everything on logic not just mix and add plugins. Niggs dont show Logic enough love up on here. Fuk protools, logic is whats poppin. Just my 2 cents
