deep sound is good, but lets just say you are in an enviornment where you have no access to the net? Check this.
1. edit and "tune" (tune as in adjust the tune in the program page) the sample exactly how you want it (in tune or not with the track you are working on). Once you have done this, write down the value the sample is "tuned" to. Lets just say you had to tune the sample to a value of +47 in order for it to fit with a beat running at a rate of 90 bpm's.
2. now that thats done, you will have to "tune" the sample again, this time matching that particular sample with the overall "key" that the track is in. Example being: you would need to tune this same sample to a value of +59 in order for the sample to be in the same key as the overall track. Now you will write this number down.
3. Now, what you will do is subtract the lower number (being the number that the sample was tuned to in order for it to "fit" in "time" with the track) from the larger number (being the number the sample was tuned to in order to "fit" with the "key" that the overall track is in). you should have a value of 12. Write this down also. (simple formula).
4. Ok. This value is the amount of timestretching you will need to apply in order for the sample ti "fit" in both "key/tune". In this case, you would need to leave the sample at the tune that you like (which is set at a value of +59), and timestretch in the oppisite direction, with a value of -12. This will bring the tempo back down to the setting it was at before (which was set at a value of +47). And now you should have a sample that fits, and is in tune with the track.
Hope that all makes sense!!!
You can use this in reverse also, if you have to use negative values when working with your samples. But try to keep the resulting values within a 0-10 (-/+) range, or the sound starts to get a bit crazy and distorted, which might not be a bad thing in some cases. Also, remember that the 2000xl takes 365 days to timestretch a sample!!

so i guess you can roll one up, or get some top from ya girl or something.
Hope it works out.
