looping samples

if 'banana' was a sample, is it possible to loop the sample so it sounds like... 'bananananananana'
basically so it plays the start and end and loops a section in the middle

No, that's covered in detail in the Soundforge tutorial - the same technique is used in the MPC, although it's a lot harder to achieve. I'll have an entire chapter dedicated to this in my new book which will show everything step-by-step for the MPC.
