thinkin about trading my 3000 for an sp1200

i do all mines double time drum, heat, even on a 1,2 beat.

oh and if dood who started this threads concern was the sound, all these older machines like the 3K, 60, etc, you shouldnt have a hard time getting a good sound (not like the 4K/2000xl...1000 gets a nod , shit is hot) just buy a sample cd from ebay put it in your disc player or comp and PHYSICALLY sample it, dont use a disc to transfer, even with a cheaP MIXER, EQ it a bit, and the drum machines will add their naturual color, which should be chunky.

i dont really buy samples off of ebay. I'm pretty much strctly vinyl. How do you resample on the 3000? Do you mean record it somewhere else and then back into the mpc or does it have a resample function?

That's the ticket! If you have access to a 1/2 inch or 1/4 inch Tape machine it's even better because you get that 3rd harmonic..from the Tape that is!

nope i meant ¼" reel to reel. actually i should only record my master mixes to it....dirty up the beats a bit.....

I just got an Akai reel to reel at a yard sale to do just that (read it in tapeop I think) . Ima try that as soon as i find some tape
