Does Primo know about 3.10?

Hard To Earn came out prior to the 3.10 OS, as well as Daily Operations.. That says it all.

Primo mentions in one of the Wax poetics that he's just had his MPC serviced or upgraded, I can't remember the exact quote.... I'll have a quick read and scan the text in tommorrow for those that missed that issue

I'm almost positive that around 1996/97 *when the upgrade was released, Premo had ditched the 950 and moved onto the ASR10 and MPC-60 combo. Therefore an upgrade wouldn't be a major concern of his. Also a musician that chooses not to sample into the 60 shouldn't feel compelled to upgrade as it really doesn't do all that much for you. We all know the 60's 2.12 OS was held in high regard for its intuitive MIDI sequencer/control functions. In fact if you're comfortable with what you're used to you may feel hindered by 3.10's various modifications and interfaces. Of course, If you're the 60 sample user, it may have made a greater positive impact on your compositions after mastering the new OS, but again it's a matter of preference.

To some people newer isn't always better as in the case of the SP1200 user....sure there are things such as computers and mpc4000's but it don't mean we're gonna be on the cutting edge because it's presented before us and modern technology deems it so? Hell all of our machines here are antiquated.......technically? There goes that new van again....(only people from Philly would get that

See, but I think he does sample into the 60, I've heard from people that seen him do it, and that he showed them how to use it by sampling in the 60.

i don;t think the 3.10 would make him skip a beat, but it benefits the sequencer use as well as the sampler use, it benefits all.

My understanding is that he does not sample into the 60 at all. Always S950 (straight from the mouth of one of the sit in engineers who worked at D&D from 94-95). Many of his drums are processed through the SP which he has always used, (Why does anyone ever point this out!?!? WTF you think NAS IS LIKE was made on? a 60? ).

Primo would never upgrade to OS3.10e, he needs and uses the HELP MENU too much!
