Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

After getting great help from these forums, I have got mpc2000XL to sync up with cubase, via a midex8..After a fair amount of experimentation, it has become more than apparent that the feel/timing of the MPC is far superior to that of working and programming within Cubase, BUT you cant beat the ease of use and sounds you get with VSTis (I have DKFH Superior and Battery 2 amongst others)...I have the MPC running my VSTis, but you do notice that the timing is not as tight as when using the mpc and internal sounds ( I know this is a midi thing)...
I wonder how folks out there are incorporating the MPC into their DAWs ?, as I am still trying to figure it out..I have tried recording midi data from the MPC into cubase, but when you play it from within cubase, you notice it looses something in translation....Funny, until I got the MPC, 3 weeks ago, I never really noticed the lack of feel from cubase, now i have the comparison its hard to go back..

this timing issue you refer to could be due to latacey issue with your MIDI interface. try tweaking the settings to get a better response. also your pc might not be upto spec. I use alot of VSTi's and Reason Refils and other stuff with my set up and the timing is bang on, however you need the RAM and the CPU power to keep up.

Thanks for getting back to me dude......I am using a G5 2.5 with plenty of RAM, and the Midi interface is the Midex 8, when you say tweak with the midi settings what do you mean exactly ?.... You would think the system I have would be up to the task..I also have my card (RME didgiface) on a very low latency setting...Have you tried similar set ups in Cubase ?...

did you assign the drivers from your hardware to cubase?

Since your using a G5, plenty of ram better be a GIG or more!

drivers are called extensions in macs right? cant remember cause I aint used on in years (pile of shit macs in my opinion to many limits and strongholds)
to be honest, this is not a MPC issue and you will need to a forum that can aid you in performance tweaking... but i suspect its your midi settings are not configured properly...but hey i could be totally wrong..

tell me whats the snyc like? is it tight?

The sync is OK, obviously compared to using the MPC with samples its not in the same league.. I did try using with reason and It seemed tighter, so it may be a Cubase thing ( I have mucked around with settings)...Q, how do you turm the midi info into audio when working via VSTis ?....
