On Akais website I dont really get their explanation of which formats the 1000 is compatible to.
Is it possible to use S1000/S3000 CD's.
Does it read wavs? can you use all the wav sample CDs available?

It does read PGM (and APS I believe)

But it will not read any sound file type apart from WAV - so if you have S1000/3000 CDs, you'll need to convert them to WAV using CDXtract.

You can use WAV CDs, although as the MPC1000 has no SCSI port and is only a USB slave device, I beleive the way to get the sounds into the MPC1000 is to first load the sounds into your computer, then send them to the MPC via USB.

so if i can load up my 2000xl APS and ALL files. all i need to do is save the samples on my mpc as WAV rather than SND so then it wont be a hassle to transfer my music onto it?

Yes, but only pad assignment is transferred. If you have any filter, tuning, attack, decay or any other pad PARAMS settings they will all be lost and have to be re-assigned one-by-one. Which is plain daft.

There will be software to assist in coverting former MPC formats to MPC1000 format. Even though this has been mentioned several times on this forum, everyone seems to forget it.
