Here's the situation. I got some drums emailed to me. These are .snd files by the way. I download them, upzip the folder, and burn the sounds to a cd-rom. Then load the cd into my external scsi cd-rom and everytime my mpc won't read the samples. I get ????? in the file type. Someone told me about a joliet file system issue. Can anyone help me figure out what to do about this without buying $200 dollars worth of more hardware.

well, i thought you would need the actual .wav files along with the .snd files, right? i might be wrong. im not too sure about .snd files....is there a way you can convert the .snd files to .wav or get .wav files instead of .snd files?

Basicly you'll have to do what Smoove said.Convert them to wav. and you'll be good to go.

AYO, IN my honest opinion, I've been thru this same problem...you shouldn't have to convert to .wav...its an option tho, but the mpc can read .snd files....the easiest thing you can do, if you have a pc, look in google for a program called mpc-editor ...u can work wit the trial version, thats all you'll need..wit that program u can make ur own drum programs and save the .pgm so that when u burn the sounds and the .pgm onto cd it will load it all up...i do this every now an then when i have alot of drums that aren't prepped up for my mpc...
