Using Sounds on 16 Level

Has anyone had this problem or know how to correct it? When I've used 16 levels to play around wit a sound @ different octaves, sometimes it doesn't let me go above "4" Like you know how when u change the cursor to "tuning" and if you move the cursor a little more to the right, theres an option that lets you change how deep the octave is ie. 4-13 anyone know about this?...
I know if i wanted to, I can easily chromatically assign the pads for that one sound, but thats gonna take up a whole drum kit spot

it doesn't happen all the time, but it is a pain in the a$$ cuz i' might wanna use the 16 levels function on a certain sound and sometimes it won't let me change from 4-13 on the level... HEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLP!!!!

i know exactly what you mean. i usually turn it to 9. but if it wont let you turn i dont know then. sounds f'd up!

yo that shit happend to me the other day too...i just turned the power off and when i came back to it it worked fine, i thought it was really strange tho that it wouldnt let me get to that part of the menu, i thought my cursor was broken or somethin

that happens to me all the time.

i usually like to have the original be on '8' (espec. 808 kicks) but all-to-often it will prevent me from doing this. I used to have an older 2000xl that did have messed up keys (they would stick, etc.) and I always blamed it on that. Now I have a brand new 2000xl; and I KNOW theres no way that the keys are sticking. What causes this?

Thanks cooocooo. This happend to me for the first time a few days ago, too. It wouldn't let me go above 8, but nly on one program i.e. as soon as I switch to a different program it was fine. I just gave up and saved everything and powered down/up. This is good though, cheers.

Not to be redundant because I just posted up the same info in another thread, remember you never have to be limited by the 16-levels. Just adjust the tuning of a pad in increments of +10 or -10 to go up or down one key. If I remember correctly tuning max is + or -320, so you'll always have all the range you need, or is it + or -240?? Oh well, still more than adequate range.

yea, that worked for me....the note /assign thing from that other thread..i guess it is a bug, but i was happy to see that i was able to move it from 4-13...and uhhh, to whoever sed to not only be limited to the assign level thing, I alredddy know you can mess wit the params...but its more convenient the way I know.,.,to each his own.,.,

Everybody knows the tuning parameter changes the pitch, I was saying mathematically going up or down +10 or -10 on the tuning(as long as you start with 0) gives you the same as up or down one pad on the 16-levels or one semitone on a keyboard which is the equivalent. For example if I set the tuning from 0 to +50, it is the same as going up five pads on 16-levels in pitch mode.

So, you don't need 16-levels to manipulate semitones or play different keys. If you knew this cool, some don't just tryin to help.
