from computer .wav to Floppy to MPC

I formatted the floppy on the mpc first then inserted it into the computer to save a short wav file but the computer says NO ID address mark was found on the floppy. it has to be formated by the mpc first then save the wav by computer then load the sound by floppy to mpc. right??

....It's been a minute, but from what I remember you can just use standard floppies out the box with no formatting. Then you can save regular .wav files on your PC and load them up into the MPC and vise versa. Yeah, I think when I first got my 2000 I would format floppies, then on a fluke I figured out it wasn't necessary....

Ya know what, I know it works I remember now, I had a cheezy computer that had Fruity Loops on it and I would tailor drums on the MPC, save them as .wav files and load them up on the PC floppy drive and sequence them on Fruity Loops. I ended up not liking that program too much, plus it was just easier to keep erything in the MPC so I lost interest. But I'm pretty damn sure there is decent cross-compatibility of .wav files on standard floppy disks between the MPC and PC's.

The only way PC can read SND files if it has some program on it that can read it, but PC can always read WAV format, even in Media Player

..I'm sayin you can make floppies with standard .wav files on them that both your PC AND MPC will read. BUT, come to think of it I only went from my 2K to my PC, so yall might be right. Imma have to fire up the 2K and get to the bottom of this...

What does this have to do with the problem posted? Either you are intentionally posting misleading information or you have no clue how to operate your MPC.

Sorry misread the post...

I got an original 2000 and you needed to convert the files to .SND for the mpc to read it.
Havent had the XL .wav compatibility...
I apologise for readin into it wrong.
