This seems very, very weird to me

Ok, what happens is, i got my sample, bassline and drums loaded up on my MPC2000 and everything's gravy but then I find out that when I play my sequence and loop it, its all good and in place, but when i say LOOP: OFF, my bassline keeps playing for an additional 2 bars AFTER the loop has stopped, even tho' both sample and bassline is 4 bars.

What can have happened??

its a .wav file sample

i just made the bassline in Reason 3.0 and threw it on the MPC

if the bassline is one single sound it will play until the end of the sound when you press the stop button..... this is normal.

You can do a few different things to stop this....

1 - shift + F5 to open the trim screen, that stops all sounds....

2 - use a blank pad to stop the sound, in the porgram parameters screen high light the poly/mono and open window.

3 - use Note Off for the bassline, this will turn the sound off as soon as you press stop.

I don't know about anyone else but when I do this the pad has to have a sound assigned to it otherwise it won't mute the other sample. So I just assign a drum hit or something and turn the level all the way down.

^^^^^ A sample that is a few milliseconds of silence will work too ^^^^

Yes. And that is why im confused.

My bassline IS only 4 bars long, just as the sample but its like I somehow "doubled" the sound.... I dunno

When you saved your sample on the PC, did you save the loop properties to play the loop a certain amount of times, or ifninite?

I just took my 4 bar bassline and put it on a zip disc and opened the file on the MPC.

It should be all good but somehow it isnt... Its not that big of a deal - it just makes NO sense to me

Maybe the sample is for some wierd reason, longer than you meant. When you play the entire sample in TRIM mode, is it the right length? Other than that, maybe its triggered a second time at the beginning of bar 3, so it runs to the end of bar 6.
