I haven't embarked yet, as I have just bought my 2000XL. But I like to know what Its gonna do for me.
Should buy a second sampler for multisampling?
Like an S-series? Then which one is best fit for the job you think?
Or should I buy the ebook and tackle it that way (with my mpc)
Tell me the truth whats going to be more intuitive-efficiƫnt-timesaving(!!!)-creative-inspiring- (pro's / cons)
Also soundquality: The key here not being to recreate the instrument like going after 200% realism, but creating an individual unique sound starting from acoustic instruments (say 90-95% realism is reasonable). But thats not really the issue (100% is of course always fine: I can but a bunch of effects on it later)
I'm planning to multisample a bunch of instruments (harp,trumpet,contra-bass,cello (staccato), flute, zither, that sort of thing) anything I can lay my hands on basically. (As you see I'm more of an alt-tronica-type of guy)
I'm not going to do things with long decay times to begin with (but you never know later on...)
I like the idea of being able to save space and use the mpc for drums only and at the SAME TIME playing melodies (from multisampled instruments) form an other rackmount sampler. Can I do this using for example
mpc + rackmount + midi-keyboard, and have the mpc record everything?
Share some thoughts-Should I expand or try to squeeze everything
out of my mpc? (time really is a factor)
cheers
