honestly i wish he would just do his own shyt, i liked what he had there better than anyhing on his albums, even tho it was with someone elses digs and samples. i think he would do better doing it all himself.

He used someone else's samples true, but he also mentioned before sessions he goes to the record store himself (digging? Sure sounds like it to me.)

Just cause he made some beats with samples some one else dug for doesn't mean he does it all the time, and necessarily has a pay roll for diggers. He said a friend gave him a CD with samples to use...that's it.

Cats who use a Triton or Motif aren't any less producers cause Korg and Yamaha did the "digging" for the sounds in their machines are they? Kanye was flipping those samples like any dude with a synth would flip the stock sounds. It's not a crime. He's putting in work.

I cant see the problem here...Im sure if I put up my entire Drum collection up, most would be happy to take it AND use it. Same difference...Get your own stuff (right?!).

If you got someone by yourside that finds samples that you like then whats the big deal....Cos you didnt personal pick it out and blow the dust off it you become less of a digger and producer?! Hmmm! Someone needs to wake up! You still need to have the ear and creativity to flip it... If it was to my taste, I'd take it too...

Theres a lot of closed minded (Never ever going to make it past the passion of their bedroom) people in here to me. Its like some take this 'what makes a producer' thing to far....LOL! Oh well! Such is life!!!!!!!!

Anyone know what or where those bass sounds are coming from...they were very crisp and clean, I'd love to get some bass like that.

looked like he had the sounds loaded into his ASR-- from a sound cd or zip.

you can get nice bass sounds from FL presets. they are all over the place.

he definately looked like he was in his zone. altho im sure he had that beat ready. he just had to put all the pieces together.

Yo thanks for saying this cuz I was just about too....You guys are hating on Kanye way too much....You act like if your boy called you like "Yo I have some samples I am not gonna use so if you want them come by" that you would say no....Just cuz he was working with those samples doesn't mean he doesn't dig on his own....Like ONE pointed out, he did say he goes to the record store so that sounds like digging to me also!!!!

which would make you as bad as the fourteen year old kids who just sit there slagging peeps cos they dont really understand the process in making tunes....

i mean its purely a kids mentatility- imagine these same cats were into chords and beats- most tunes would be shite as they copy chords from old classics, ditto beats....therefore there would nothing left thats any good...they all draw from well established musical constructs; which in the context of hiphop is a bizzarily inverse attitude to have seeings as the genre is built on the referencing established tunes....seems there are rules in this so called postmodern phenomena too- only one person can reference a song; the next artist that does is 'wack'.....

there are not many musical chord sequences or rhythms left which have never been used before; its how you express with those musical tools available....

that said i see the same types as being the peeps asking 'which should i get 'triton' or 'motif'?'- asking that question is just like asking 'which records do you sample from'.....

its purely asking where the sound are from as they want to be able to emulate it and hopefully get the results the original did (read not a banging tune but lots of sales potential) rather than be able to express themselves musically with anything that allows them to.

Call me a hater then for thinkin its lame not to dig for your own records. This is just my personal opinoin. Meaning i personally rather put in the extra work and dig for my own sh!t. I understand where you guys are coming from. But when it comes to alot of things I'm more of a do it yourself type of person. Thats why I look this as kind of lame. Because when it comes to most things if i can do it then I'll do it myself. To each their own. I do like Kanyes sh!t (not really his new album), but most of his stuff that he has produced. and for the record I'm not some 14yr old kid with nothing better else to do.

Its easy to say that now casue ur still a bedroom producer(we all are) but when u start working on 100's of joints and handling industry busniess, you gotta learn how to manage ur time and outsource. Who cares how the music is created man.....just enjoy the end result..........
