Hi Guys,

I have a MPC1k and I was hoping to control the mixer window with my Behringer BCF2000.

Does anyone know a way to do this?

Anyone done it?

Cheers,

Nick.

you want to control your mpc's mixer with an external mixer? i never heard of this being done. i could be wrong but i highly doubt it. can that be done with any other mpc's?

"not to a jerk"?? huh?

Why?

Well it would be a lot easier and faster to just pull up or down a fader rather than go into the mixer window.

Well the only way I see you could use an external mixer it to set up the sounds on the pads to go out the outputs. You have 4 plus 2 if u include the stereo outputs. If you use all 6 then u would be able to control 6 sounds with your mixer based on if you have enough channels. What that does is allow you to mix on the go w/o going back and forth to the mixer window. Also I dont mix in the MPC I mix in my VS which is my track recorder and mixer. So does that make sense? Look at it as tracking out but not into the computer but into a mixer. It will work that way.

Well first off, the BCF2000 isn't a "mixer", it's a generic midi controller; all it does is send midi CC messages. I can't find any note in the manual or mention anywhere else of the 1000's mixer being able to be changed via Midi CC...so no I don't think you can.

to the best of my knowledge there is no way to control the internal mixer witih midi so your BCF2000 won't work for that. it you want control over the mix real-time you'll need to use a real external mixer and assign parts to the outputs like a few others have mentioned. you could try using a midi monitoring software app to see if any data is transmitted when you tweak settings in the 1000s internal mixer but my guess is that you won't see shit. if it can be done that'd be a sweet feature that could make live performance pretty sweet. lemme know if you find a way to do it!

you'd have to do it through MIDI CC messages and the 1k doesnt support this. so no, unfortunately you cant do that on the 1k

unfortunetly, there's no track volume control with midi either...
