MPD16 PRICE DROP

You basically told people they were stupid for owning hardware and that it was a waste of money and "why would you own an mpc if you had a pc?" and the like.

why would i say that?

i own a sh!t load of hardware. i have own a mpc for close to 10 years.

what i did say was a "pc/lappy, live 4 (at the time) and reason is basically all you need to make beats/music if you are on a budget."

i do remember you selling some of your some of your hardware for a new lappy, right?

i sold all my hardware for my new "lappie" except my mpc. I just dont preach to people about what they should and shouldnt be using. But its all good. Lets not let this turn into a bs thread cause it isnt a bad one. Peace.

yo bing...let us know what you think of the trigger finger...my little brother got one to start phuckin with reason 3.0 but had a hard time setting it up right (as in assigning $hit to the pads), but this is his first peice of gear so it might actually be dumb easy...peace

i use the trigger finger with REASON 3 and bwoy its a hot combination, you control all your drum samples with the pads (obviously) and then ive assigned each slider and knob as a level and pan paramater control. It works really well.....and havent looked back on my mpc days since,
Also i had found myself (in my 2kxl days) layering drum sounds using pro tools, as this is the most accurate way to do it, so i copped reason and a trigger finger and sold the mpc, no regrets!

Aight i got it in today. it took a little messing with it to get the midi note numbers right and get it configured to how i want, but overall it was pretty easy to setup. You have to somewhat know about midi and how to setup a midi studio to really understand it though. If you dont know these fundementals it will be akward to config at first. But its just like any other controller. Once i got it up and running i did a quick beat with it. Check it out. www.soundclick.com/djhaze
its called guesswho. The mix is off casue i mixed it on laptop speakers. So bear with me till i get some nice headphones. But overall its a real tight device and along with my tascam us-224, it bascially has the feel of my mpc. Just being able to hit play and stop on this thing with reason is so refreshing. So yeah if you have a pc studio scoop this shit up.

just wondering... the trigger finger, it powers from usb, right?

by the way...i took a break from the new Bun B album to peep your tracks...i liked em all and some of them a lot...helped get my study on while trying to memorize about 200 drugs

that mpd16 is garbage. its usb so theres latency,

i never experienced any latency w/ the mpd....the trigger finger is usb too isnt it?

yeah theyre all usb. even the oxygen8. its not the usb causing the latency. the latency comes from certain audio interfaces.

Hey MWalker! Just came back from the music store where they were trying to sell me the m-Audio trigger finger...Probbaly cuz the M Audio rep was there & he then (the rep) tried to show me some stuff on Live 5 & the trigger finger. Anyhow, got a question! You're setup you got Live 5 & Battery. I'm debating on which one to get. I want soemthing that most easily transitions my MPC expertise to the software world. In other words, what program is easier to use if you are an MPC user? Also, what do you feel is better? the MPD16 at $149 and Battery 2 or Live 5? or the M-Audio at $299 or whatever the price is, which comes with Live? Lemme know cuz my MPC2K Classic is slowly dying & I can't afford the MPC2500...Thanks!

anyone use the mpd16 to control their 1000? do the pads feel good like the 2000xl?
