I have a problem with my mpc, i bought it two days ago and now i was trying to sample in the analog mode. So, i used a cd player to play back the sample into the left side to get a l-mono recording. The problem is that i got this strange distortion. The problem stays no matter if i use a md, or computer output. So, does anybody know what this is or due i now have a excuse to kick the guys ass who sold me this.

thnx

what's wrong with this question? if you are using a cd player why would you use analog mode and not digital?

plug into both channels. if you select mono L it will still give you a mono recording even if both are plugged in. don't know if that will fix your problem but worth a shot.

Right on! If it's a portable CD player with a volume control, that's the most common mistake. I've seen that happen since cassette adaptors for car stereos first hit the market. People with stock radios used to kill their speakers all the time.

allright i figured out the problem. Its because i do not have a pre amp in between the cd player and the 1000. so i need to get my mixer in between the thing and then it works. hopefully otherwise that jungarian bastard is dead.

and yes again, not all cd players have digi out puts.

goodlooking out

just curious, does your cd player have digital outs?

You don't need a preamp. A CD player outputs at normal line level. It should just work. Check cables and level settings.

Try a different source, and different cables. If the problem stays you're fcked. Oh wait:

Time to pay the seller a little visit.

Just to be sure, describe the 'strange distortion'?
