Its a Drum, Sampler, Sequencer. Its a production Studio all in its self!!!
without the mutlitracking and vocal requirements but musical deliveries!
I mean i use my MPC entirely on its own and make beats no pc, no nothing, (though I do have)...i really cant understand why you want an expensive midi controller!
Further down the road I would probably delugve into the sampler realm of music production and by already having a MPC1000 which can also work fine as a Midi controller, I would have the best of what I need. Right now I create my music from scratch and not from samples. I will create all of my beats using the BFD drum sounds assigned to either the MPC 1000 or Trigger Finger. Music will be created using my Roland Fantom X8 and everything arranged together in Pro Tools 7.0 with a Digi 002 Rack.
The Trigger Finger is a bone dry Midi Controller. The MPC 1000 can do all that the Trigger Finger can do and then it has all of its other functionality. Yes, Pro Tools 7.0 can handle all the sequencing but the MPC 1000 is also a sequencer and has many other effects.
I just want a concrete answer as to whether all of the sequencing, effects, and all the other powers of the MPC1000 only work when sounds, samples, etc have been loaded into the MPC1000. If that is the case, then the MPC 1000 would be only useful as a midi controller identical to what the Trigger Finger can do since with BFD, you won't and can't load its drum sounds into the MPC.
Thanks for all of the advice so far
