Like Java said, just hit open window, hit open on EVERYTHING and see what opens up, just a hint....

I hate to sound like an idiot but what does the swing function actually do? I'm too tired to go through my shoe boxes to find the manual?

I think its hard too explain, its better to experiment with it...use the swing on your kicks and do it like 60%...
sometimes I put swing on my hihat...you will hear a small difference but its got a huge influence on your whole beat...

Download the manual and print the index from there.

The swing function basically moves all the even notes in your quantise setting off the beat by the percentage you chose.
Gives it a triplet-y feel without really moving the quantisation/synchopation to dotted notes.
