Only $1000?? If the MPC you choose to spend that extra money on has the functions you need..and you can recoup the costs with your music...$1000 is pennies.
I never think twice about paying for any gear that I want that costs under $2,000. That's in the neighborhood that I expect to pay....but thats just me.

I miss my 3000 too... i am out of the country right now so my MPC is at home....I have my 1000 with me but it sounds SO different. I used to think it sounded the same and i could get away with it but for some reason, i am more creative with my MPC3. The 1000 is still good though....and i am waiting for the new OS.....just babbling here.....

I just set my Pro Tools HD up and I own the MPC 3000, Sp1200 and the MPC 2000...So I feel ya on this one!!
