Can I sample while a sequence is playing on an mpc?

I'm using Ableton Live right now but I don't really like using the computer so I've been looking at getting an mpc.

I like to record live instruments in Live and I was wondering can I do this on an MPC? Like make the drums and then record over it, sort of like a multitrack I guess.

You can't do it unfortunately.

you can do it with an mpc 1000.
i do it all the time. you have to manually trigger the samples after you record them, although you can pre record sample triggers so they automatically play after recording, but it's a little unpredictable. so it doesn't quite work exactly like a looper, but it's pretty close depending on how you work it.
