ima hold out until we get word on the 80gig drives. i can't wait until we are able to audition the sounds on cf or hd before actually loading them into the 1k. that shit is a pain now, i got so many samples i don't know what is what and i hate having to go to the computer to pick out what sounds i want to use on the 1k.

Good lookin on the links. I didnt find them on newegg. Thats odd with the price difference, since it's the same model on the same site.

seems kinda shady but the site overall looks legit.

btw... i was hoping it would be better than 4200rpm. The 40gb is 5400rpm if i'm not mistaken.

pad - did you find that through pricewatch.com? I did a search there and found that store was the cheapest, plus free shipping. i dunno how well their shipping department is. i kinda wish they had it on newegg though.

wow. i'm still in shock i think. this is amazing. 80gig hd, sample audition, timesretch, zoning, yada, yada, yada. this thing is about to be a straight beast! i have to admit i was pretty bummed when i thought there would be no such update. i knew what the machine was capable of when i bought it but i was really countin on that line in scratch saying these issues would be addressed in a future os update. my dreams have been answered plus some. i really hope we get this shit before xmas though. that would be to long imo.

come to think of it, computer giants might not be a bad idea for me since they're located in new york. has anyone here from ny dealt with them before?

yeah that would be cool if akai would release this os before black friday. i just dont know whats up, since it may have to do with their marketing strategy considering the 2.5k hitting the shelves. IMO, I believe it would be smarter for them to release it sooner, so that consumers have more of a choice and ultimately more MPCs would be sold for the holidays. it's not like people arent aware of OS 2.0 coming out, so if potential customers dont see it released beofre the holiday shopping season, they may not buy it at all during that time, putting a nice dent in akai's pockets.
