I see one definite advantage. OS 2.0 on one machine and 1.07 on the other for the Jessiah Glitch. Other than that... double the number of tracks and samples.

Why are people so amped about Jessiah's glitch? Can't you just apply some time of pole filter to the signal for the same effect once in your daw? I mean it sounds cool but i'm not sure i'd dedicated an mpc to serve as a flange effects box.

couple of reasons....
one...i figured it would be a good investment...i bought it the week we found out about os 2.0 so the market was flooded with peeps selling it in hopes of copping the 2500...i got it for $465 and all it needs is a couple $2 buttons and then its ready to rock...but i'm working on a scam in which i'll probably have it fixed for free or replaced with a new joint...i'll let youse know once i see if i can pull it off
once os 2.0 drops and heads really see what the machine can do...i'm sure that the value of these will go up...at that point, i'll either sell it or keep it
two...i usually leave my house around 8am and return sometime close to or after 12am and most days i'm studying in one spot for like 10-14 hours...when i take breaks, all i have access to is the internet so i end up pissing away the time....so i figured i could bring the mpc with me wherever i end up going that day and instead of wasting my break and having nothing to show for it i could mess with the mpc....yes i could disconnect mine and bring it but man i have so many obligations and such a lack of time as it is that that would just be one more thing for me to just say "f it"...i try to spend almost every productive moment i have studying and even then i'm only just passing, i ain't even at the top of my class....it sucks...but many of my classmates are in the same position....so in the process mad ish gets put on the backburner and i'm sure one of them would be disconnecting and reconnecting the mpc
and if it turns out bringing my mpc with me to my place study (probably is) was a bad idea, it should be worth more $$$ than what i paid for it by then

Just sell both of the MPC 1000s while you can get some decent money for them and cop that 2500....a much better unit as far as OS, added features, and hardware. Even with a new OS, the the 1000 will not stand up to a 2500.
Tool Box: Nuendo 4/MPC 2500/Reason 4/Emulator X2/Battery 3/Wave Lab 6

there is so many reasons I could think of off of the top of my head why 2 mpc's would be good.
the main one being that u always have a backup - - one goes down and u gotta send it in , you have no down time.
never did it cross my mind, WHY
I ask. WHY NOT

aside from 4 midi outs and tilatble screen i really am not seeing a need to get the 2500 just yet...in the future ie 1-2yrs i probably will
the additional outs won't help me since my current audio interface only has 2 ins...i am looking at the mbox2 but even then i wouldn't be able to make use of the additional outs
cd-drive?...i see no point...may be you can tell me how you have been using yours
tiltable screen....cool....but its not gonna make me switch just yet
grid edit...never used it on an mp or pc so i really don't know if i would like or even how i'd use it
pretty much everything i felt the 1k lacked will be answered by the new os
plus they added $hit that i thought they never would
i think i'd be better served by investing in another module and better audio interface
one thing i would cop in a heart beat is a smaller battery (rechargeable) operated mpc...akai where you at...i want to see the "sp-303 killer"...akai where you at...sparq get on the horn and tell them boys to get on it...that joint would sell something ridiculous
