Does the 4000 have the input thru feature?

Correct, you have to manually press stop, or tell it how long you want it to sample,
but you don't have to just put it in terms of seconds, you should be able to change the
"Time' to "Beats" and say tell it to sample only 4 beats or something like that.

I've downloaded the 2500 manaul from akaipro.com but haven't looked at the part that discusses the 2500's Input Thru feature, so don't know who they implemented in that though... though I'm guess, it would be the same thing, you would still need to figure out how long you want to record the sample, as the MPC can't read your brain..

Don't know if you realize, but I have been a member of this site for quite a while and I use the search function aplenty. I believe that I have always been courteous to all users on this board, even those who I may have been smitten by.

And, I did not believe that I was enlightening the masses with my reference to the input thru feature on the 2500. It was just as a disclaimer for those 4000 users who don't peruse the 2500 forum (which I myself wouldn't if I wasn't interested in getting one).

Hmmn Remedial which mpc do you have now or you were coming from? From the look of this thread it seems that you were deciding to buy one or the other. And yes I don`t know you on the 4k or other posts no big deal just since the 2500 was released many have checked the 2500 board (I myself have personally used one) and the post about the thru and phrase input was posted several times in comparation with the 4k. You`re not a newbie excuse me. Still if you have decided to get a 4k check the basic manual not a lot has changed since it was released and the newbie bible for new 4k users.
