replacing the tact switches on an MPC 3000

I need to replace most of the tact switches on my 3000. I have all ready removed them but am unable to find the proper switches to replace them with.

I contacted the Akai service guys and they want to charge me $7 a pop
wich is totaly stupid and way to expecive

Do any of you guys know the model number or were i can order them from at a realistic price.

it's in the archives, and you can get all of them from mouser for less than 2 from VST

Be careful cuz I think the ones for the 60 are a different part number.

and next time, wait until you have the replacements before removing the old ones.

it's funny the 3k switches just have 2 leads but the 60 switches have 4.

AP went back to 4 lead with the 2k.

Yeah two pins are not used on the 60.

damn, double soldering for nothing.

Yeah I just replaced all of mine. Actually I had someone do it for me but it took them about 3 hours to install new ones after I removed all of them. No more mashing buttons now.

yeah I replaced all of mine a while back, so much fun. I really enjoyed the process.

When desoldering, use 'desoldering braid'. Its alot quicker and less messier to use than the suction ones. Cost less than 5 bucks @ radio shack.

nah man, braid can rip traces if you're not careful, I used the $10 desoldering soldering iron from Radio Shack and it was really dope. i had some braid around in case something got squirrly, but it never really did.
