Sup Fellow Mpc 60 headz...i'm new to it but I love the sound of it....I have all these ideas in my head that I wanna put down but I gotta physically learn this thing now.....Anyways sorry anvance for the newb question as yall prolly have heard it a million times or will just laugh by reading it but here it goes....

Sampling into the mpc 60....I go to the add new sounds and all that....then set it up the way I want (seconds, assign to pad etc..)...and press soft key 1....it says it's Ready........so then when I play for example a kick or snare from my turntable, the meter is going up >>>>>>>>>.....my question is how do I get it to stick?? how does it actually record ...what do I gotta do to actually get the sound to record...i've press record..nothing....i've pressed softkey 1 again...nothing....I just see the meter go up...but nothing else.....Please help...and don't laugh lol

Im not sure what your getting at but take these steps even if you know them.

-Adjust sample Length to appropriate time.
-Adjust Threshold so sample will trigger the record. (Lets say about 15%)
-Hit <rec ready>. (SOFT KEY 1)
-Let the sample play

After the record length ends it should pop up with a screen saying...

"Done. Press <Play/Stop> to hear it, <Keep&Name> to name it or <Discard> to return to sampling screen & try again"

-Hit <Play/Stop> (SOFT KEY 1)
-If you like the sample press <Keep&Name> (SOFT KEY 2)

Pretty basic if you mess wit it a little. I'm guessing your threshold is too high, though. Holla if you need more help samplin on the 60 is a tad diff than some samplers.

To be honest I started having trouble with it again...i'm not sure what it is......I just got fed up so I just let the sample play even passed the original "kick" I wanted to sample...So It did sample to the assigned pad but ...But I can't get it to sample the exact spot I want for some reason......

set threshhold to zero. If your memory is really close to full sometimes it compacts data for a minute or so before samling, but that's usually just once and it tells you.
