Getting pads to re-trigger a sample

This is probably a real simple one, But I'm not near my manual and a bit stuck.
Could anyone tell me how to set the pads, so that when u hit it, a sample plays, and when u hit the same pad again, the same sample restarts without having the original pad hit playing in the background
Sorry if it's a "basic" question, But I'm stumped

in the program screen change from poly to mono

or u could change the sample into a loop and it will play intill u release the pad.
