hey man if you want pads but short on cash why dont you cop a trigger finger by m audio or cop a mpd16 by akai i would go with the akai mpd16 its built a little better than the trigger finger but hey its way being a beatmaker myself i had to really struggle man including getting beat with cash by so called sellers online on ebay i recently bought my mpc from here right on the forum for 100 dollars str8 the guy didnt want it anymore so he gave it up for cheap here is a word of advice use paypal or use a cod when buying online from regular online classifieds you will be protect b/c there are cats out there who dont give a fuk about beating you outta hard earned cash

That's what it's all about right there Klixxx.Do whatever you have to do.I use to work 2 jobs,gettin' 3 hrs of sleep a day just to get some of the gear i wanted.THings will probably be goin' back that way again real soon but hey,sometimes we have to sacrifice right?

U shoulda seen what I looked like when I was saving for my MPC. (A fukin mess)

get fruity loops and a mpd16 and that should hold you until you save the cheese for hardware. that combo is about $250 throw in a m audio sound card and you at $350.00 copp it all at americanmusical. com and only pay $125 up front, with their payment plan.

if you wanna do beats bad enough you gotta do what you gotta do. there is no golden rule that says mpc's are the only way to make beats.

go the budget route and work your way up from there.

I agree with what most have been saying. It kills me how people have NO problem spending a grip on sneakers and clothes or dropping a hundred just "hanging out", and then complain about how much gear costs. Sorry, but you are NOT serious if you are not willing to work extra and sacrifice for what you love or want to do.

In the immortal words of Extra P, when asked about gear: "Get what you can get." Like everyone's saying, get FL or Project 5 and a Trigger Finger and/or a MIDI keyboard, and then work and save up 'til to get and MPC IF at that point you still want one. I'm an MPC devotee, but it's not for everyone. Try out demos of different software and work with different hardware until you find what works for YOU. Then put in work and save 'til you can get what you want.

I was like a E-3/4 in the navy(1000 a month) when I wanted some gear. I could work an extra job, but I found a way. I stood other people duty on the weekends, did other laundy, but finally I got those 1200 turntables. You can do it, but like everyone here said it takes sacrifice and you will find a way.

I agree with the cats here, if you want it bad enough you gotta be hungry enough to scrimp and save and sacrifice. I wanted my OG mpc2000 so bad, I saved up ALL my pay for a month, less bill money, and ate nothing but cereal for breakfast and peanutbutter and jelly sandwitches for lunch and dinner, and I still had to move back home with my moms AND use my whole income tax refund to do it, and I never regretted it. Ever.

Only regret was not knowing I wanted to do this sooner and starting out when I was way younger when the older 12 bit equipment was still new...
