help me with accessories for my mpc 2000 xl mcd

hello, i´ve bought myself an akai mpc 2000 xl mcd yesterday, cause im tired of my mpc 1000 and my sp 303.. but the only accessories they had had on the page i bought my 2000 xl mcd from, was the effect card thing, which i can´t afford right now.. but do some of you in here know any place where i can buy the 16 MB RAM upgrade? and the 8-output expander? at the same place, with low prices..

they seem to only have the memory upgrade in store tho, also you should be able to buy the memory upgrade in a computer store or something..... i dont know the difference of the mcd and the regular xl but on the regular version there is two simm slots so you should be able to use two 16mb cards.. or one 32mb card, i think 32mb is max in ram memory..

You can buy 16MB SIMMS from VST Service.com for 19.50... this isn't alot of money generally speaking. But you can buy ram for your mpc alot cheaper elsewhere. But for the sake of convenience, you could buy the ram from them, and while you're at it, also buy the 8 output card which they sell for the standard price of $249.00. Again, if you're willing to look around, you might be able to find the output card a little cheaper.

(PS. Psitech is right, max memory is 32MB. Also, the MCD is no differen't from the regular XL in that it also has two ram slots, and you can either use two 16MB, or one 32MB simm(s). It is recommended (even by Akai Pro themselves, so I'm tolled) that you use two 16MB simms if possible, as it is harder to find 32MB simms that are fully compatible with the MPC. In case you go looking for ram elsewhere, you'll want 72pin 60/70ns EDO simms)

i paid about three 4 quid for mine off a computer memory site on the net.

it dosent have to specify it works in mpc, just make sure its the right spec (listed in manual).

i settled for 60 rather than the recommended 70ns (whatever that means) but it works just fine.
