basic sampling? and zoning

what it do yall
i need some tips on chopping samples and zoning.
what is the best way to zone and then get the sample on 16 pads.
and what are some basic tips with getting samples to match the tempo of the beat?

its pretty simple...take your sample , id usaly take a 2 bar sample , go into zone edit...i select 12 for my number of zones an the sample is automaticly choped into 16 across the pads

yea but it dosent chop it automatically on tempo right?

I don't think so. Maybe sell your 4000 and buy a new 2500... I believe it has a feature that chops samples in some kind of automatic way.

lol im aware that nothing will manualy chop a sample for you but what if you time stretch and the wav is to far a head or behind the loop points in a 4/4 and u want to chop it to fit but it gaps your sequence/sample?

on my 2000xl I set the no. of zones and press edit..and its automaticly choped across the pads..I would assume the 4k has the same feature or maybe I have a magical mpc

to get your sample to match the tempo of the beat is very basic...you should realy download the manual , ull have a hard time with out it

Stage.....you might want to look into Soundforge.I just recently got it but the little bit i have done on there is amazing.It would make a good fit with your 4k.(If you want to use a computer of course)

timestretch the sample (10-15%, anything other than that sounds unnatural).
place the sample on a beat bar tick that plays how you want it to play.

chop it up into smaller pieces and maybe timestretch each piece even farther than 10-15%.
