which mpc?

Hi, i basically need you to help me decide if i should pick the 2000 classic or the mpc 1000 (both are used).

I can get the 2000 for 648$ and the 1000 for 800$.
The 1000 is 129$ out of my budget, so i will have to sell one of my 1210´s to afford it, but if it is that much better than the 2000 i am willing to do that. That is actually what i am looking for, a bit of help to decide if the 2000 fits my needs..
I do "beat-based" loop music, bits of electro, oldschool hiphop beats and "electronica" (in lack of a better word).
Im planning to use a lot of loops made on my computer (reason), and basically just a lot of long samples, and load it onto the mpc. Other than tha, im of course going to program from "scratch" on the mpc. I need the machine to add a live-feeling to my productions. But i get the feeling that the 2000 lacks some things in order to do that, when its not just about drumprogramming?

What would you do?

These days, I would go for the 1k. But if it meant I had to sell a turntable I'm not sure. Can you wait a bit longer until you have the money, without selling something?

If it's someone you know can you not ask to give them half the money now and then give em the rest week by week?

Or make them an offer if it's someone you dont know?

well maybe, but when i come to think about it i actually dont think ill be able to get the money untill about two months .

But if the mpc 1000 is so much better, i wouldnt mind selling my 1210 (then maybe buy a cheaper turntable for the rest of the money.).

I would look at it this way if I was you:=, and I have 2 1210's so I'll give it to you from my perspective:

I have 2 1210 turntables as I DJ but as of late I haven't really been using them much:
1. Because I can't afford at the moment to keep spending £8 ($18) on one piece of vinyl.
2. I'm trying to focus on producing because I want to make my own stuff and because nowadays thats often the only way to make it in the DJing game. This means less time to devote to mixing.

Now im guessing that one or both of these apply to you because if youre saving for an MPC you aint gonna be buying much vinyl. When you get your MPC you are gonna be spending alot of time on that as well so you probably wont be touching your decks so much for the time being. You already have vinyl which you can sample and flip in the MPC, so that should keep you going for the time being.

When the time comes that you wanna spend some more time on the decks you could have saved up some more dash by then and either get a cheaper turntable or get a 1210 again. Prices of 1210's are falling and don't hold their price like they used to due to the popularity of CD decks which are taking over.

So IMO either pay half now and pay rest in installments, and if you cant do that then sell the 1210 and cop the 1k

Actually you read my mind i Just put in an ad for the 1210.
Then im just counting on that the mpc1000 wont fall in price, so ill be able to sell again without loosing money (i allways need to secure myself that way), even though i definately dont count on it..!
