thump wrote:has anyone tried installing one of the newer solid-state (flash ram) hard drives in a 1k? i'm thinking that i'm about to get one, and i'd like to put a ram drive in it when i do. right now they're only up to like, 16gb, but i really don't think that that's going to be a big deal for what i'm planning on doing with it. and man, they're fast, they're light, no moving parts...i do love solid state ****!
although this is somewhat new technology, i don't think they are developing this (from what i've read) for laptops yet. i can be wrong.

Quiet Storm wrote:Everything is all good guys. I exchanged hard drives today and the only one Circuit CIty had works fine. The installation went smooth, I lost a screw in the process but besides that its pretty quiet, I can barely hear it and thats when my ears are directly ON THE PADS.

I just got it about an hour ago and its installed already with some samples ready to use. Thanks for the help.

I guess you can add this one to the list of drives that work. Peace

HITACHI : HTS541060G9AT00 60GB

working fine.

edit- was working fine on 1.07, since 2.01 been having some problems.
not sure if it's the drive or the os right now. maybe best to stay away from this one for the time being.

edit2- having no problems at all on jj os since the dirctory error was fixed

why not make a list in the first post of this thread so we don't have to braowse 8 pages to find what we're looking for...
