As I have mentioned before the internal Zip drive on my MPC is not working properly. The green light lights up when I pop a zip disk in, but the MPC is not registering it, or stating no floppy found. I've done the auto search for drive, nothing. I've set the SCSI to 0, nothing. I've set it to floppy, nothing. My deduction is that its not working. I've been getting by with my external zip drive. So I am considering the following:
Restore it with a floppy drive. As I have tons of 3000 floppies. I've checked with Akai & have heard about Route66 too. The floppy drive from Akai is $187.00 plus shipping. Route66 offers a TEAC FD235HF-A529 for $80 or so.
Now for my question!.. Since the Teac floppy drive is cheaper, logic says buy it. However, nothing on the Route66 site says that these drives are compatible with Akai MPC's. Can anyone offer any tips?
BTW, I've done searches, and have seen similiar post, but not one this specific!!
