Yo Herm...I agree you can't type emotions into a post, and alot of people will take things the wrong way. Basically, we ARE judged on what we type....After all people, (its human nature) have to form some sort of opinion about you to connect with you...hahaha..its all love baby!....Anyways, since you don't own the XL I still think that was a good question man..Sh1t youre already ahead thinking like that without having one. Alot of Kats (Me included), buy gear THEN try to figure out how to use it. Nothing wrong with that either...
BUT....You can download the manual for Free... REad it and it will probably answer alot of questions. I have been on my machine for the last 3 weeks HEAVY..I'm talking from the time I get home from work, 6 oclock until like 1-2 am. The manual is a Good reference at best, but it doesn't explain alot tricks that the Kats in here know so I have BOTH as a resource. I come here when I can't find the answer in the manual or over look something that I didn't really understand in the manual. My knowledge over the last couple of weeks has doubled by watching other producers videos and sh!t just like you watched Pete Rock etc. I didn't know alot until I watched some of that Sh!t. Like Params, Note on Note Off,
Poly, Mono etc....How to chop up a sample<-------A "MUST KNOW" FOR REAL!!!!!!! So...Welcome to the best MPC forum on the net cuzz.
