Pad cut off - All pads.

On the XL. Is there anyway you can use one pad to cut off all pads. I know how to get a pad to cut off two pads via mono open window etc. But say you have one pad that you want to cut off all pads with. Is this possible?

What did you search for? You would have found alot of relative posts by searching for "mono", "mute", or "cutoff". Remember you can also select an individual forum you want to search, which means you won't have to sift through (as many) irrelevant threads.

I searched for all pad cut off and pad cut off. And to who else. I checked the manual so I know that it isn't in there. That doesn't mean it can't be done hence why I asked.

I just searched the 2000(xl) forum for "pad cut off" and the below thread was the 11th result. By searching for "pad AND cut AND off", it was the 2nd result. It was also only the 4th result when searching the entire message board (for the latter).

The answer to your question is clearly stated in the above thread; "All you can do make any one pad mute any two other pads".
The guys then go on furthur discussing possible ways to get around this limitation in the mpc. But I can understand that you might still be curious after reading that, because they don't explicitly say 'the mpc2000xl cannot have one pad cutoff every....'. So futhur searching would be in order. And in doing this you might have found THIS thread which moreorless covers you question more specifically.

i dont have the xl anymore so i cant try this myself... but there might be a way to get 1 note to mute atleast 6 other notes

....NOW what if you go to program and when in the "ASSIGN" window go to mode and change to "SIMULT" and set the note to also play 2 other notes with no sound assigned to them...

what if those 2 notes had already been set to mute another 2 notes each... should give you a total of 6 notes... and if this works, maybe it's possible to link more notes somehow..

yeah I tried that shit out,,,, and it worked.

thing is u have to hava a sound asigned to the note that is being plat simultaniously... just sample som quiet.

Yeah that works but it's a tedious process and it's not even worth the bother.

if one for some reason likes to work with samples cutting eachother off, i guess it's can be worth it and then you just have to save the program as a default so the next time you only need to assign the samples..
