Painting Buttons

Has anyone had success with painting the buttons on your MPC without the paint chipping or wearing away in the middle (leaving a white-ish dot on it)? I couldn't find a post dealing with just the buttons and the ones that mention it just recently painted them. I need someone that painted theirs a while ago and haven't had it wear away.

i dont think the material it is made out of will hold paint very well.especially if you are bangin' on them all the time....but i could be wrong.

Why would I be bangin' on my buttons? Not the Pads, the plastic buttons (numbers, NOTE REPEAT, OPEN WINDOW, etc).

i bet finger nail polish would work well.

i did it , with a textured rubber spray paint. i did it like a year ago, and i only got a tiny chip or 2

Could you elaborate on this paint. Brand name, link, whatever...

oh my bad.i read it wrong.i thought you ment pads.

I'm considering painting the buttons as well when I overhaul my 2kclassic. I think the best bet is using Krylon Fusion, which bonds to plastics.

I've also done some custom molding with clear resin so I might consider doing that as well which would be doper. The buttons would be clear like glass and you can tint the resin whatever color you like so the number buttons could be done blue transparent - rec/overdub could be red, etc. Like this:

I used car touch up paint...ya know that stuff you use on scratches and dings or what not...It's only been painted for about 8 months but no chips...

i'm telling you, it's jsut the buttons. chipping and what not wont be a problem. also, if you used finger nail polish like i suggested you could user remover and repaint easily if there ever were a chip.

Nail polish remover on plastic? Not always a great idea (melting is possible). But I hear you on the "its just the buttons", I could alway re-paint them if they wear off or chip. Good looking out people, I think I'ma use the Krylon Fusion (i like spray-paint )

yeah, krylon fusion is the stuff.
acetone does melt some plastics.... i know first hand
