But first get out your notebook and write the steps out as you go because you will be more likely to remember this.

How I edit a sample on the 4000 goes like this.

1. Hit the sample button.

2. Select sample from list. (auditioning with pads while selecting)

3. Hit the trim button. (F2)

4. Hit the active button of Qlink fader 5. (Q5), (This selects the start value field)

5. Hold the shift button while hitting the up block cursor. (This alows the fader to cover more range because the view zooms out)

6. Hold the active button for Q5 while sliding to what looks to be the begining of the sample.

7. Hold the shift key and hit the down block cursor until you get one or two block cursor hits past the point where you first start to see the begining of the sample spread away from your previosely made starting point. (This alows you to zoom in for a more detailed and precise view.)

8. Now with the start point still selected use the scroll wheel to get to the exact start of the sample. (Note that the scroll weel goes tick by tick which is more precise than the fader, but the fader is still better for traveling those longer distances.)

9. Repeat steps 4 through 8 to adjust the end point except use Qlink 6 as the fader and Qlink 6's active button to select the end point field.

10. Hit the edit function key and select and execute the Discard function.

Please note that this information is mainly for selecting. And steps 4 through 9 can be used within the reigon mode which is good for choping up drum or instrumental phrases. Just make sure you hit the open window button when you are over the reigon number field so you can select the number of slice segments you would like to chop your sample into.

how 2 make one pad control another pad like the simultaneous mode in the 2000 ?

for example i would have one sample on one pad and that same exact sample on another pad

one would be original and the other would be a filter version of it

i know the 4000 has thing called zones and u can put 4 different samples
to play together

but the problem when i try 2 filter one of the sounds all of the sounds get filtered !!!!!!!!!!
