hey im new to the mpc in general, just picked one off real cheap.

so this is what i have right now:
mpc1000
emu1212m sound card
Numark TT-100 + Preamp + Vinyls
PC running Reason 3.0, Recyle 2.1 (and cubase to record audio/vinyl samples)
M-Audio 61es Keystation

i would think i am going to need a mixer in the future (looking at them new behringers, just need a small affordable one). but im just asking for advice from you people who know what your doing what is the best setup (as of workflow and ease) for mpc + vinyls + reason.

i am also looking to using the mpc to its full capability (instead of just using it as an expensive mpd16)

thanks in advance.

to use reason and the mpc, hook up the midi in and out from the mpc to the 1212m soundcard

you'll need these midi adapters
http://us.creative.com/products/product ... roduct=252

when you start reason up, go to preferences and go to midi and pick your cards midi in and out.

connect your keystation61 to the midi in of the mpc.

read this and you will have no problem hooking up your midi.

Depending on how extensive you'd like your setup to be there is always the option of using a Digital Interface (D.I.). I used a Yamaha 10/2 analog mixer ($95.00) for a long time for my MPC, Motif, 1200's, Bass then ran the RCA outs to my soundcard. But now I use a M-Audio Delta 1010 and run 4 stereo 1/4's into the IN 8 channels. This allows recording and monitoring from your DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) plugins in realtime and you can still use the 8 OUTs to send to your physical mixer to keep it analog and be able to tweak sound on the 10/2 (example). This did wonders to my clarity and sound mastering.

im not sure how i am going to use the mpc yet.
as of now i think i am just going to use it as a midi controller for reason. is there a way i can load up the drum sounds in reason thru the redrum and then use the mpc to sequence the drums via midi, and then record the final midi drum sequence from the mpc back into reason. (and same thing with a nnxt and chopped vinyl samples)?

yup, do as I told you and you will be able to sequence reason into the mpc. you can use any module on reason. As long as they're sync'ed you can sequence on the mpc or reason.
