auto chromatic tuning on the 2500

although 16 levels is good, it is not the same as a chromatic scale. this is why everyone is asking for autochromatic

are people looking for a key mapping thing or just to control a sample remotely? Does autochromatic make actually create a program?

I use my 4000 for this because it has a real sampler that can do true keymaps. stretching one sample across a keyboard don't seem real useful to me. I can also use Kontakt, EXS, or my S1000 or S760 if I need a hardware sampler for key mapped stuff.

For simple things I just use the 16levels. I didn't ever have a 2000xl so I don't know the feature and why it's useful.

But 16 levels also changes the tempo of the sample doesn't it? Unless i've been using it wrong

um so would auto chromatic.

So what's the difference between that and 16 levels?!

16 levels spread it randomly in different pitches, auto chromatic puts in chromatic order like a keyboard

-auto chromatic would work for 4 times the note range (banks a thru d)

-auto chromatic would include setting the correct midi notes

-auto chromatic would handle polyphonic note offs correctly (at least on my 1k 16 levels is weird for playing chords.)

I always thought it would be cool if you could combine 16 levels and auto chromatic.

Basically you would hit 16 levels, but you could assign the origianl note (C4, etc). It would respond to a midi keyboard like auto chromatic, plus the midi notes would be correct.

this way you wouldnt have to load up separate programs, but you could still get the same effect.

I heard the 2500 doesn't track shifting is that true?

no that is not true.

does it have shifting in the note repeat window? cause i know its probably in edit.

With the exception of the MPC 4000...MPCs are not really designed to play back chords from its internal sound engine. You can get OK results playing instruments like a basses..but anything complex, you should use a stand alone sampler.

the 1k does not have autochromatic assignment. there is a pgm that the 1k users use. (it's a blank program)when you load that program in you just add your sample it.

here you go. this one wasn't but you can make one using bluebox.

Has anyone tried making a Melodic PGM for the 2500? If so , Please do share . If not how would you do it in bluebox?
