MPC 2000XL and TRITON LE CONTROLLERS

I'm still a bit new to the triton and was wondering if it's possible if the mpc Mixer/Program/NV Slider can be used to control sounds in the triton (pan, volume,filters, effects,etc). If anyone does this with the tri or any other modules let me know. Thanks

I don't know how the triton works, but with the Proteus, I can route velocity information and modulate a variety of parameters in the proteus. That being said, the answer is on the Korg... not the MPC. One thing that I have not explored yet is the full midi spec of the MPC. I don't think that the NV slider uses midi CC. If that is true, your won't be able to directly modulate the Korg with it.

Okay, I just checked the midi spec. The mpc does not transmit midi control changes. You will not be able to directly modulate the parameter using the NV slider. You can do what I suggested in the last post OR you can record midi CC changes to the MPC. The MPC will record these changes according to the manual. That being said, you need to make your modulations on the Korg while recording on the MPC. It should send that information back out.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, I don't this myself, but that would seem to be what the documentation is telling me.


Whoa... this just in. In the Sequencer section of the midi implementation suggests that midi CC can be transmitted. If that is the case, you need to know what CC# it is using and math that to what you want to control on the Korg.

Finally, the answer that you are looking for. In sequencer mode, the MPC will send midi CC information on the CC# you choose. You have to open the NV screen (shift + After(Assign)). At the bottom of the screen it asks you if you want to assign the NV to a ctrl change. Chagne that to the corresponding channel for the control you want to modulate on the Korg.
