the truth is that this board is devided by underground and mainstream hiphop. I personally would love to battle with rules. It wouldnt be a problem to me. It would make it even easier. I think the unpredictability is what makes these battles either win or lose. Its funny cause cap and jac said the same thing to me on aim or on the boards... "you won/win". But keep bangin them beats out. Whats wack to one person is do$$$pe to the next.

Correction, When u first posted the beat I said "You will probably win" Not saying that your beat was better, But being that most people jump at those type of beats. I personally thought It was a real cheezy BadBoy type Puffy beat. Thiers alot of corny people on here that like that stuff. Thats Y I said my beat was for my "Real Diggers" No disrespect

"the 'old school' approach requires your going outside your home and digging in the so called 'crates' for vinyl records. then play them on an appropriate turntable, sample stuff you like and use that to make your music"

why don't we set up a battle like each person uploads a sample. then each person has to make a beat out of 'em. i'm down for that.

or just one person upload a sample and madd people battle it out. rated on drums, chops, change-ups watever. i think it's fair like that and easier to see each others skills.

i said this the other day, and i agree, it'd be a fairer way of judging who was the better beat maker/producer/<insert own word>. i originally said how about themed battles but, as tictoc pointed out, this is quite restrictive to the creative process. however i think that having restrictions can sometimes focus you more, but i guess the "using the same samples" thing would be a good compromise.

Jimbo on this one. It don't matter if you dig or not, a dope beat is a dope beat. Keep it coming.
