stereo sampling problem

The problem with my MPC3000 is that i cannot sample in stereo and/or digital. There are no problems whatsoever sampling mono L or mono R, but when i select the stereo input immediately there is a lot of noise, which is recorded along with the sample i take. Has anyone encountered this problem?

Try turning down the MPCs volume knob to 0. Then attempt sampling stereo again. Once the sample is recorded, turn the volume knob up and play it back to see if it is still a problem.

is your sample monitor on? try sampling with the gain switch on 'low'.

yep, i tried all of that... does not help. i should also say that when i select 'mono L' or 'mono R' for sampling, and i leave it like that for a couple of minutes (say, I'm looking for a new sample or something) that same noise sometimes appears as well. but then i change from L to R and back again and it's gone again for some time, and then i can sample again without a problem. very strange indeed...

Try setting your gain switch in back to low or medium and turning up the source dj mixer, etc. Then using the Peak>>>>>adjust the rec level switch until the distortion goes away. Just a thought check your cables the first time I had the cables plug into the headphones input and line left in

my cables all in perfect shape. as i said, i can sample monoL and monoR, and use the same cables for that...

adjusting gain, volume etc. is to no avail. the noise begins even before i start recording anything...

as i said i can sample mono left and right, but the thing is that after a couple of minutes this distorted sound appears as well (this sound appears even when there is no input signal). then i have to switch from mono left to mono right or the other way around, to make it disappear... untill it reappears, and then the story begins all over again...

I got my 3000 repair about two weeks ago my smpte chip was cracked so I had it replaced at Akai center and now it is noise free.
