Hey, I'm in the market for another MPC 3000 and I really dont know what to pay for the one I'm being offered. Here is the info for the MPC 3000 being offered:

1. there are light scratches across the outer part of the screen

2. this guy is the second owner, who bought it from a studio and the studio's name is in black marker on the bottom of the mpc

3. there are light scratches here and there on the rest of the unit

4. It comes with a floppy drive installed, no zip comes with it at all.

The guy tells me that it works fine, however I cant see it since he's in a different part of the country (but he seems pretty honest about everything).

He is asking $1100 for it, however I think it's a little much with the scratches and marker on it, I want to offer $950. What does everyone think on here?

I wouldn't buy anything if I can't see it first.

would you rather pay a little extra for a guaranteed machine or try to save a little and get scammed?

Dont do it..1100 with scratches, writing on it, and no zip? No warranty or guarantee? That's crazy..The zip alone is gonna cost about 300 to get installed by Forat, if you dont know how to do that your self. You dont even know if it powers on, or if the buttons are bad, or the display is dim.. Go on ebay, or yout local used pro audio store before spending that kind of money.. You can get one with a zip and in decent condition for 1100 to 1500 bucks. Better safe than sorry..
